
Paid Partnership w/ @theblondeabroad

This book is a joke that went too far.
A highly unique project, Paid Partnership with @theblondeabroad is an attempt to map information in an unconventional way. Starting with a random instagram influencer’s account, I recorded all of her tagged locations and paid partnerships over three years to create a data set. This data set included the process of manually cataloging over 350 posts, including the date they were posted, the locations that they were posted from, and if a paid partnership occurred. From there, I found an interesting relationship with the space that instagram dedicates to location and sponsorships. Using that information I set out to create a tactile, and grotesque book that catalogs all of @theblondeabroad’s sponsorships from September 25th 2017 to September 23rd 2019.
The physical book itself was created by vacuum-sealing the contents and products (or related items if I was unable to get a hold of the product), and labeling these bags with the dates of when said pair partnerships occurred. These pages were then bound in chronological order from most recent, going back three years.
The final result is a book that displays data in an unconventional way and reveals the almost absurd ways influencers are asked paid to sell products to their audiences.
